CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES OF THE MIAMI VALLEY ANNOUNCES MARY REID AS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

DAYTON, OH – June 24, 2026 – Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley (CSSMV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Reid as its next Chief Executive Officer.

“We are incredibly excited for the future of CSSMV under Mary’s leadership,” said Amy Riegel, chair of the CSSMV Board of Directors. “Her vision, experience, and deep commitment to our mission positions the agency for continued growth and impact. We look forward to working with Mary to strengthen our partnerships with community leaders and expand the support we provide to individuals and families across the region.”
Reid was selected following a comprehensive search process led by a dedicated committee that was supported by Gilman Partners, an executive search firm based in Cincinnati. She replaces Laura Roesch, who left CSSMV at the end of February, after 16 years at the helm, to take the position of Executive Director at The Glen at St. Joseph.
Upon her selection, Reid stated, “With over a century of family strengthening services, Catholic Social Services has a rich tradition of service in the Miami Valley. I am honored to be trusted with stewarding this work into the future alongside our board, staff, and community partners.”

Reid currently serves as the Senior Director of Programs and Strategy at CSSMV and brings more than a decade of service to the organization across multiple roles. Her deep understanding of CSSMV’s programs, operations, and community impact has been instrumental in shaping the agency’s direction, including her leadership in developing the recently approved three-year strategic plan.

In her current role, Reid directs the clinical and administrative operations of CSSMV’s Dayton-based social services programming, overseeing five program areas. She provides leadership in shaping and communicating the agency’s strategic vision, represents CSSMV through community collaborations and advisory committees, and contributes to resource development through grant and contract procurement and compliance. Reid also serves as a key member of the agency’s executive team, working collaboratively to advance CSSMV’s mission.

Throughout her tenure, Reid has demonstrated a strong record of innovation and community leadership. She played a central role in CSSMV’s selection by Catholic Charities USA as one of six organizations nationwide to pilot programming supporting resource stability for low-income mothers. She led the development and launch of the Hispanic Outreach Program (PASOS), which now serves more than 130 families annually. She also guided the agency’s response to the 2019 Memorial Day Tornadoes, coordinating long-term recovery case management for more than 2,000 affected households while serving as Vice Chair of the Miami Valley Long Term Recovery Group.
Most Reverend Robert G. Casey, Archbishop of Cincinnati, who serves as an ex-officio member of the CSSMV Board of Directors, expressed support for the appointment of Reid.

“I am delighted to welcome Mary Reid as the next CEO of Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley,” said Archbishop Casey. “Her years of experience at the agency have prepared her to meet whatever the future may hold. Mary has a unique understanding of the community’s needs and how the agency can best respond to those needs. I offer my sincerest prayers for Mary as she undertakes this important leadership role, guiding CSSMV to embody the principles of love in action on behalf of the Church.”

For over 100 years, CSSMV has been a well-respected force in the Miami Valley, serving the most vulnerable among us. Through its tireless work, the organization has created avenues of hope that extend throughout the region. CSSMV looks forward to welcoming Reid into her new role as CEO beginning in July and is confident in her ability to lead the agency into its next chapter of service and community partnership.
