Catholic Social Services Names New Executive Director

Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley (CSSMV) announces the appointment of Laura J. Roesch as the new Executive Director for the agency which provides services in the Dayton area and eight counties in west-central Ohio. Roesch has been a member of CSSMV for over 20 years and currently serves as the CSSMV manager of special projects, adoption, foster care and pregnancy counseling. She will succeed retiring Executive Director J. Elaine Jelly.

Roesch has led efforts to expand adoption services and provided leadership for a state-wide adoption education program for professionals.  At CSSMV, Roesch also assisted with the development of grants and funding sources to expand agency facilities and programming to help at-risk families and seniors through home-visiting and outreach social services.   She is a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor and Ohio Certified Adoption Assessor.

“As the board completed a three-month search, we sought a leader who had a commitment to the Miami Valley,” said James Ghory, President of the Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley’s board of trustees. “We found that, within the organization, we had a committed manager with a successful record of program innovation and resource development. We are excited for Laura to step into her new role as Executive Director and continue to carry out the agency’s mission of faith, service and charity.”

Roesch is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Human Services and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.  She will officially begin her new leadership post on August 1. During the next month, she will work with incumbent Executive Director Jelly to assure a smooth transition.

Roesch and her family reside in Miamisburg, Ohio and are members of St. Henry Parish.
