To assist needy families and to support development of social ministry, CSSMV offers Care Team Ministry. Families with needs and dreams work with CSSMV Case Managers who assist them to achieve their goals. At the same time, volunteers are trained and matched with families who need ongoing support and mentoring to reach self-sufficiency goals. After volunteers and a family are matched, the team's work continues to be guided by the CSSMV Case Manager and the Care Team Coordinator; helping to ensure progress for the client family and a positive experience for the volunteers.
Care Team Volunteers can help with errands or shopping, transportation, tutoring, teaching skills in job readiness, home maintenance, or budgeting, and participating with families in community activities.
Care Team Volunteers teach personal responsibility and problem solving, guide families towards setting and achieving goals, provide emotional support, and encourage personal growth.
