Adoption Awareness

Programs of CSSMV build families and help empower individuals of all races and religions through actions of faith, service and charity.

The goal of the CSSMV Speakers Bureau is to increase public awareness and understanding of our programs.

Tackling Stress
Create your family's Game Plan for Success. Learn how to tackle stress head on by putting together a "playbook" designed especially for your family. This workshop is a light hearted, interactive, fun way to approach the topic of how stress is affecting your family.

Children in the Middle
"Children in the Middle" is a skills-based program that helps children and parents deal with the children's reaction to divorce. It is a recognized Model Program by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Results reported include: 57% reduction in litigation (e.g., child-access, change in custody, and/or child-support disputes), 30% to 53% reduction in parental conflict, 70% fewer school absences, 54% fewer physician visits by children, and 22% reduction in child-reported stress.

Presenter: Richard Williams, LPCC/MS, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor; Lead Therapist, Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley/North

Parenting 101
This workshop teaches practical strategies to effectively parent children from toddlers to teens. Parents will learn how to utilize natural consequences, creativity and humor to establish control without resorting to anger, threats, nagging, or exhausting power struggles. In addition, parents will learn strategies for setting effective limits, how praise and play can be used to improve parent-child relationships, effective discipline techniques and how to set healthy boundaries.

Presenter: Richard Williams, LPCC/MS, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor; Lead Therapist, Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley/North
