The Incredible Years: Parents, Teachers and Children Training Series
 
Parenting programs designed to strengthen parenting skills, prevent and treat behavior problems in children ages 3 to 10 years. 

This parent, teach and child training series has been extensively researched and field-tested with over 1,500 families.  After treatment, results indicate fewer behavioral problems and less spanking. 

Program Goals:

  • Increase the child’s social skills.
  • Increase problem-solving skills.
  • Increase ability to manager anger.
  • Increase parents’ positive communication with child.
  • Improve parents’ ability to effectively discipline.
  • Increase family support network.


Program Overview
  • Series of 12 classes that are free of charge due to a grant. Attendance and active participation at every group is mandatory. Group will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 1p.m. to 3 p.m. Transportation and child care will not be provided. Refreshments will be served
  • There will be a maximum of 14 participants. 
Program Activities
  • Open group discussion and sharing.Videotapes. Role-playing real life situations. Parenting education aimed at positive interaction and effective discipline.
  • Individual support and assistance, as needed.
 

Who should enroll in the Incredible Years program?

  • Parents with children three to ten years old who want to improve their parenting skills.
  • Parents with children three to ten years old who are showing undesirable behaviors.
