Erma's House Selected for 2006 Peacekeeper Award
(November 20, 2006) - Catholic Social Services is proud to announce that Erma's House Family Visitation Center was selected as a recipient of the 2006 Peacekeeper Award. The award was presented on Friday, October 6 at Artemis Center's 13th Annual Peacekeeper Symposium and Luncheon. The event was held at the University of Dayton's Kennedy Union.
Since 1997, Erma's House has served children and families who have experienced family or domestic violence. Erma's House provides a safe and secure environment for children to have scheduled visits and exchanges with their non-residential parent. Professional staff and over 30 trained volunteers provide supervision to ensure the safety and comfort of the children.
In 2005, Erma's House staff and volunteers supervised 1,374 safe visits and exchanges for 368 people. Erma's House is located in the Catholic Social Services Center for Families, 1046 Brown Street in Dayton.
Artemis Center established the Peacekeeper Award in 1993 to recognize individuals or organizations in our community that have made significant contributions to a coordinated community response to domestic violence.
