Children are assessed for attachment therapy through an in-depth interview with parents and the child, by a comprehensive clinical review of psychiatric and school records when applicable, and by an assessment instrument such as the Randolph Attachment Disorder questionnaire and CBCL.
When the assessment indicates the presence of an attachment disorder, the appropriate level of therapeutic intervention is recommended.
- Two-week intensive therapy Includes ten consecutive days of three hours per day of therapy for the child and parents. Follow- up provided. Collaboration with current providers.
- On-going attachment therapy Includes six to ten sessions consecutively meeting weekly for three hours with child and parents.
