Here are some ways you can help…
Volunteers are essential in welcoming newcomers. You can put a human face on the United States and help refugees connect with our community. Volunteers, case management staff, and our partner agencies work together to help refugees become self-sufficient. Volunteers act as cultural navigators, orienting refugees to a new community, helping connect them to resources, tutoring them in English, and providing friendship. Volunteers may also assist with airport arrivals, apartment/house set-up, grocery shopping, transportation to appointments, bus training, teaching/assisting Cultural Orientation classes and more. The most important gift you can give is kindness and a warm welcome. Depending on the type of volunteer service you prefer, we may ask for a commitment of up to six or eight months.
Your in-kind donations help refugees start their new lives on the right food. CSSMV depends entirely on donations of furniture, linens and housewares to furnish and equip refugees’ first homes in the United States.

Storage, delivery, and pick-up services are provided by St. Vincent de Paul. When donating furniture, please be sure to advise them that the donation is for the CSSMV Refugee Resettlement Program.
