FatherLink In October 2000, Catholic Social Services launched a new program for young fathers in the Dayton area. As an extension of Teen ParentLink, which focuses on pregnant and parenting teens, FatherLink seeks to serve young fathers. The goals of FatherLink include promoting self-sufficiency and encouraging more meaningful parent/child relationships. FatherLink participants will be offered support and assistance with issues such as job training and readiness, educational goals, health care, day care, financial assistance, parenting training and support, counseling, communication and conflict resolution skills, housing, legal assistance, substance abuse counseling/education, and material assistance. FatherLink services are offered to residents of Montgomery County, primarily African American and Appalachian men up to age 25. Local partners in the FatherLink collaborative include Mounds Street Academy, as well as Teen ParentLink of Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley.
